Eligibility criteria for PM Awas Yojana

The following eligibility criteria have been set by the Government of India for this scheme:-
The beneficiary should be a citizen of India
The beneficiary should be economically weak
The beneficiary should not have a permanent house anywhere in India.
The beneficiary should not be benefiting from any other government housing initiative
Families will be determined on the basis of parameters showing housing shortage in SECC 2011 data.
First of all, priority will be given on the basis of parameters showing residence of each caste like Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Minority etc. Families in which no adult between the ages of 16 and 59 is physically able
Landless families earning most of their income from daily wages
The maximum annual income of the family should not exceed ₹18 lakh, it is divided into 4 different economic categories:-
EWS or Economically Weaker Section – Total income less than ₹3 lakh per annum,
LIG or Lower Income Group – ₹3 lakh to ₹6 lakh per annum,
MIG-I or Middle Income Group-1 – ₹6 lakh to ₹12 lakh per annum,
MIG-II or Middle Income Group-2 – ₹12 lakh to ₹18 lakh per annum,
For repair or improvement of house is only for EWS or LIG category.
